Founded over 25 years ago, Vickey’s Vintage Vibes began as a small passion project for our founder, Vickey. She had always been drawn to vintage items and started collecting them as a hobby. As her collection grew, she decided to turn her passion into a business and opened her first store.
Today, Vickey’s Vintage Vibes has become a beloved destination for retro enthusiasts and collectors from all over. Our carefully curated selection of unique and rare vintage items includes iconic pop culture memorabilia, classic Americana, and hippie-era treasures, among others. We pride ourselves on offering quality items that transport you back in time and add character and charm to your home.
About Vickey Nelson
Vickey Nelson, the founder of Vickey’s Vintage Vibes, has always had a passion for all things vintage and retro. Her love for vintage items began in her childhood, when she would spend hours exploring antique shops and flea markets with her family.
As she grew older, Vickey’s passion for vintage treasures only grew stronger. She started collecting items from the 50s, 60s, and 70s and became an expert in vintage pop culture memorabilia, classic Americana, and hippie-era treasures.
In 1995, Vickey decided to turn her passion into a business and opened the first Vickey’s Vintage Vibes store, Accent d’Art, which has been a “pet project” of hers for many years, starting out in New Orleans with a picture framing shop and art gallery.
Originally from New Orleans, her interest in French décor was innate. She has a love for the warmth, the beauty and the flow of French décor and architecture. But, having said that, living on the water has always been her passion, and when you combine these two loves, you come up with an appreciation of soft, quiet, calming surroundings.
Also important to her, is preserving the beauty of our planet for future generations, which brings her to the second phase of life for Accent d’Art. When I opened my first shop in Adelaide 13 years ago, my goal was to RECYCLE – RESTORE – REUSE! Turn old into new, unloved into loved… Bring life back to pre-loved items…furniture, toys, household items, decor…you name it!
She had a vision to create a place where retro enthusiasts and collectors could find quality vintage items that transport them back in time. This is how she created Kombi Hut, Betty Boop’s Closet and Memory Lane.
Over the years, Vickey has built a reputation as a knowledgeable and trustworthy source for vintage treasures. She’s always on the hunt for unique and rare items that tell a story and bring back memories of a bygone era.
Today, Vickey continues to lead the team at Vickey’s Vintage Vibes and is committed to preserving the magic of the past and sharing it with her customers. She’s grateful for the support of her loyal customers and looks forward to continuing her mission of bringing the past to the present.
