Description

What is the rockabilly style?
As early rock and roll, itself a mixture of several African American styles of music with Western swing and country music, the style that mixed rock and roll with “hillbilly” music became known as “rockabilly.”  Nowadays, the Rockabilly sub-culture is still very much alive throughout the world. Most Rockabilly diehards still dress the same way as the original 50’s culture did. The Rockabilly sub-culture has spread since the 50’s throughout the world
The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll is credited with introducing rockabilly music to the masses. Presley infused his Memphis-influenced tunes with a heavy dose of rockabilly, heard most in hits such as “That’s All Right Mama” and his version of Carl Perkins’ “Blue Suede Shoes.
